Discovering Successful Products from Competitor Stores on Shopify

In this guide, we will walk you through the steps of identifying and analyzing successful Shopify stores in order to uncover winning products that you can incorporate into your own business.

Find winning products

Step 1: Access and view the list of Shopify stores

To access the list of best-selling products from the Importify dashboard:

Step 2: Uncover best-selling items

Once you have identified a successful store in your niche, it's time to find products that are popular among customers.

Click on the "Reveal ads" button. This will take you to the store's product collection page.

To determine which products are the top best sellers check our tips below:

  • A good way to get an idea of the top products being sold by the store is to check the items listed on the homepage. The store owner typically showcases their best products on the homepage, so this is a good place to start.

  • You can gather valuable information about the products being sold in the store by checking for customer reviews. Look at both the quantity of reviews and the ratings to get an idea of the popularity of the product. In addition, reading through the reviews can help you understand what consumers are interested in and what they value in a product.

  • Add /all?sort_by=best-selling to the end of the store's collection URL, this will expose the best sellers in the store.

    For example, if the store's URL is https://tsuki.market/collections, you would enter https://tsuki.market/collections/all?sort_by=best-selling to see the best-selling products at that store.

    Please note that this URL structure may not be supported on all templates.

Step 3: Discover similar products on Aliexpress

With the information you have gathered about the popular products being sold, you can now use this data to create a list of similar products to feature in your own store. This will help you appeal to consumers who are interested in these types of products.

So what should you do next? check our tips below:

  1. Search for the exact items on Aliexpress and list them in your store

    Many stores that you may come across offer products that are sourced and shipped directly to the customer by a third-party supplier, also known as drop shipping. This means that the store owner is not the actual supplier of the products. If you find a product that interests you in one of these stores, it is worth checking if you can find the same item listed at a lower price on a platform such as Aliexpress.

  2. List similar items in your store

    Instead of simply listing the exact same products as those being sold in other stores, you can consider finding similar products that may be more appealing to your customers. This can help you differentiate your store and potentially increase your sales by offering unique and visually appealing products.

  3. Contact the store owner and ask their permission to dropship from them.


    If you come across a store that offers unique products that cannot be found in other marketplaces, it is possible that the store owner is the supplier of these products. In this case, it may be worth reaching out to the store owner to ask if they would be willing to allow you to drop ship their products. You may also want to ask for a discounted price and any promotional materials, such as product videos or high-quality images, to use in your own marketing efforts. Keep in mind that it is important to always seek permission before reselling someone else's products.


Reveal Your competitor's Facebook ads

With your products now listed in your store, it's time to start promoting them. One way to quickly get started is by analyzing the advertisements of your competitors.

Follow the instructions below to reveal the store's ads:

  1. Click on the "Reveal ads" button.

  2. From the dropdown menu, select "All ads" and enter the store's URL in the "Search" field.

  3. Press Enter to initiate the search.

  1. The outcome will provide a list of all the advertisements being run by the store, including information about when the ad began, the platform it is being displayed on, the text written by the store owner, and the associated image.
